Roy Perlis, MD, MSc has been appointed as the inaugural incumbent of the Ronald I. Dozoretz, MD Endowed Chair in Psychiatry.  

Dr. Perlis’s research focuses on identifying predictors of treatment response in brain diseases and using these biomarkers to develop novel treatments. His laboratory also helped lay the groundwork for the use of electronic health records for clinical and translational research in psychiatry. The chair was made possible in part by the generosity of Ronald I. Dozoretz, MD, and Elizabeth Dozoretz. Dr. Dozoretz was a psychiatrist and pioneer in the field of mental health who dedicated his life to helping to improve quality and accessibility of care.
