Maya Waldman

Research Technician
Perlis Lab

Maya Waldman is a Research Technician in the Perlis Lab with bachelor’s and master’s training in Bioengineering at Northeastern University. In the Dai Vascular Engineering Lab, she studied human microglia in two- and three-dimensional culture systems, developed induced pluripotent stem-cell differentiation protocols, and evaluated microglial behavior and gene and protein expression for Alzheimer’s disease research. Her earlier research co-op at Massachusetts General Hospital focused on retinal prosthetics, using immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and image-analysis workflows developed with Imaris and MATLAB. She brings experience in cell culture, microscopy, and quantitative analysis to the lab.
